Behind the design
The special touch of this project is in the handle, which is shaped like a grain of rice. Fernando had developed this handle shape to be used in a different design, but it seemed perfectly suitable for this cane, so he applied it there instead.

The cane was a special project developed by Fernando Mendes, and as soon as Sergio saw it, he said: “Finally, a contemporary cane!”
Sergio Rodrigues was always accompanied by his mustache, beret, and cane. Fernando then named the cane in honor of his cousin and mentor, with whom he shared years of collaboration.
The Sergio Rodrigues cane won two design awards: the iF Design Award in 2009 and the Designpreis Deutschland in 2010.
